I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not.

I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain.

Work towards a faster marathon by Spring 2012.

Get my 5K down to 21:30.

Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon.

Train for biathlon.

This "supermoon" has kept me up at night for three nights in a row, and I'm getting tired!  But, it was truly lovely at 6am, still pitch dark outside, with that beautiful moon hanging right over our head for the first hour.  When the sun came up on the other side, they seemed equally bright - just gorgeous.

Three hours of running, but fewer miles than last week's run, because I only did an hour at MP instead of an hour and a half.

We ran the first hour on the roads, to get in some pavement miles for our marathon, then went into Whatcom Falls Park for a bit.  No bathrooms open at this hour, so I ran for the bushes as soon as we entered the park.  I was quick, and caught up to my partner, glanced down at my legs and noticed dark streaks.  I figured that somehow I got mud all over me.  My partner looked closer with her headlamp and said it was blood, and sure enough it was!  We could see no reason for it, and I didn't hurt, so we kept running.  But I kept bleeding (a lot!), with long streaks running down and into my socks.  We stopped at a bathroom after 2 hours, and I tried to clean it up a bit, but it just started the blood flowing again.  When I was finally done running and in the bathtub, most of it washed away, but there are some nasty scratches from blackberry bushes around my knees.  I guess even when they are "dead", they still have stickierness to them.  Ugly legs for a few days I guess.  The hazards of dark running!  I am grateful that I didn't sit on any!

Thanks for clearing up the bloody matter. I was becoming concerned. Hope you are doing well. It sure looks like your training is going well. Hoping you do well in Paris!

I ran with a little bit of a bloody nose once, but nothing like that. You are really hard core.
