I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain.

Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon.

Train for biathlon.

Out at noon, 82 degrees, sunny and beautifully clear.  A little less humidity I think!  I tried out my new hand held water bottle, and I loved it.  Holds 22 oz, and just slides right onto your hand.  I can't get my splits for this run because I will not have my own computer back for about a week, so can't download my runs.  But I know from the reported splits while I was running that they were all "easy" miles.

Nice run. HOT!

I prefer the handheld for water also. Mine's only 16 oz. There have been a few times that extra 6 oz's would've been nice. Time for an upgrade.

Hmmm. Maybe someday when I'm able to run I'll get me a hand-held water bottle.

My hand held water battle is smaller also, On hot days like we have been having it would be nice to have a larger bottle.

Since my friends gave me a bottle at mile 11 on Saturday, I've been thinking about having a handheld in my arsenal. But my hands are very small. I had to empty some water and squeeze out air to get it comfortable. Do you think they come in hour-glass shape?

From auntieem on Mon, Jul 27, 2009 at 15:46:41 from 67.182.145.8

Sno - The one that I got cinches down so tightly on my hand that it makes no difference what size your hand is. I don't really even have to be gripping it. Just look for one that will cinch down far enough. Some of them didn't and felt like they wouldn't be tight enough on my hand. I think mine is made by Nathan. I can't tell you how handy it was. I could literally just extend my arm swing up to my mouth, swig, and keep going. No stopping to fumble flasks out of the fuel belt!

Does the sloshing bother you at all? And can you switch it from one hand to the other? (I have an ocd-type thing about symmetry.)

From argentinerocket on Tue, Jul 28, 2009 at 11:17:53 from 74.9.147.114

Nice miles, your race day is coming up soon! Hooray! Don't forget to start slow :)

I also have a Nathan handheld bottle and love it - Sno, if you have small hands, it's perfect because you can carry it from the pouch and not have to hold the bottle completely with your hands. Like you, I used to be bothered by the "assymetry" and the sloshing, but I got used to it and now I don't even notice it... it also builds up your arm muscles big time!

Do you like the handheld bottle better than a hydration belt? Im debating on buying one bc I dont love the belt

Hey auntieem! I miss you!

Oh dear--just one more thing for me to want. Someone convinced me to get the fuel belt b/c it was 'fabulous'. I have to say I'm not a fan. I was use to carrying water bottles and I have to say your hands get tired of holding it after a while. have a strap would be nice...I have to look into this now!

From argentinerocket on Wed, Jul 29, 2009 at 13:47:23 from 74.9.147.114

I'm with you April, I hated the belt! I got a Nathan Intensity backpack and let me tell you, that pack becomes part of your body, I love it! It's women-specific with a clasp just under the boobs so you don't have anything constraining your stomach and shoulders. I highly recommend it.

From auntieem on Wed, Jul 29, 2009 at 20:55:35 from 67.182.145.8

If you are worried about assymetry, carry two! Its been hot enough. I switch it from hand to hand.

From april27 on Wed, Jul 29, 2009 at 22:04:58 from 99.188.251.180

Argentine--that looks so involved!!

Aunt--which bottle do you have? I see the nathan with the cute pouch...but there are a few 22 oz ones
