I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not.

I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Work towards a faster marathon by Spring 2012.

Get my 5K down to 21:30.

Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon.

Train for biathlon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Joining Forrest Gump

I had to split up my run today.  First section was from home to work at Red Cross, 4.21 easy miles.  Pace was a little fast for easy miles (8.20), so I'm not very happy with that, but there actually was a bit of downhill.  I worked for a few hours, and ran home by a shorter route, 2.86 miles.  This time, my pace was slower (9.21), which is better, but of course this was the uphill part.

I hope that it was not too late in the day for the mileage, as I have my tough track workout tomorrow at 5:00am, and we will be inserting 1200m 5K paced runs into the circuit this week.  I have scheduled some free time tomorrow morning and am going to force myself to nap.

I had some extra bike miles this morning, about 7, back and forth to the chiropractor.   I've never been to this guy before, and he really helped my neck/upper back tension alot!  Hope it sticks.  He's also a runner, so he gave me some running, strengthening tips that should be great.

Congratulations on the 2/day! I'm going to do that once or twice per week starting next week. Just like you, I'll be running to and from work. It's about 4 - 4.5 miles each way and I'll typically take a longer route in the morning and the shortest route I can in the evening. And like you, it's downhill on the way to work and uphill on the way home.

Good luck with your track workout tomorrow!

I wish the blog was like Ravelry and we could just click the (love) button. I get tired of saying it, but "nice running!"

Thanks, guys. I'm going to bed early to be ready for the morning's workout. I dread it a bit, since the running bits will be 1200 m tomorrow! But I know that I really love it, and will feel great when its done, and have already scheduled a nap tomorrow by 11:00am.

Oh, BTW, track workouts are making me so strong on my bike! Wow, I don't even notice the hills in high gear anymore.

I may need to keep a change of clothes at Red Cross; I had to go see clients in my running clothes today! Not the best thing.
