I have fun every time I run, and have recently overcome the "I can't go fast anymore" hurdle.  I'm having fun going faster and working towards becoming even faster.

I have raised two running children, one competitive and one not.

I have learned to run in ice and snow and I don't complain.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Work towards a faster marathon by Spring 2012.

Get my 5K down to 21:30.

Place in my division at duathlon and triathlon.

Train for biathlon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Joining Forrest Gump

4 miles, alternating between easy pace and 400m pick ups.  I think I screwed it up; they were probably supposed to be 200m pick ups.  Easy was easy, fast was fast.  Sunny and beautiful, little wind.

Ended my run at my sports medicine Dr.  He lasered my arm for awhile before my daughter showed up for her appointment.  My elbow and arm are terribly bruised and sore from the IV needle.  Hurts when I run.  Maybe the laser will help.

Hope the laser, and the passing of a few more days, help your arm to feel better for marathon #2.

Marathon #2!

I read on another thread that you felt like you ran the first one to quick--I would say so if you pr'ed the first 13.1! Write some where on your wrists--slow and steady atleast for the first few miles.

I know you weren't feeling panicky or anything but I say that over and over in my head if I feel like I"m going to slow or too fast (it works for both)--I say it just so that either I slow down or I make it okay for me to start out slow. that is my 2 c...

Oh and you have made me brave enough to want to try out this whole marathon mystery..I will be doing mine in June!

That dang IV! I'm so sorry it bruised you up and made your arm sore. I hope it's all better by Sunday.

I'm guessing it's nearly time for you to travel to Victoria. Have a great time.

Yes, I go down to watch my daughter run on Saturday, then whiz down to Seattle to the float plane and arrive Victoria about 4:30. Race in the am, then whiz back to plane. Whirlwind tour; must finish in time to make my plane!

April - my goal is to run the 1/2 in 1:54, then a slight negative split on the second half.
