After reading Ted's entry about his accident I can't help but but think about something similar in my life also. I won't go into detail about it though and I will make my entry short today. I ran the best that I could possibly run on Saturday and after running the course I figured out my weak areas and the mistakes I made also.  Even though I did not make my Olympic trials qualifier I still feel really happy and extremely pleased with my effort. I don't regret all of the work I have put into this great endeavor. Frank Shorter once said  that you are not ready to run another marathon until you have let go of the previous one. I agree, and so I need to go now and start training for PF Changs!  See you all at the races..

Steve, great job. I really admire the way you came back during the race. I'm glad I came by you when I did (in that it got you going again). Way to go all out.

Good race Steve. It was good to meet you and put a real face with the Dark Horse name. Way to pick it up and take off when I came up on you and Dave. That was a great finish after a long race. Keep up the good work. Hopefully we'll see you at some more races in '08.

The Dark horse has returned! Great job!

Steve-O... I am proud of you for going for it, dude! That takes guts. Still a great result. Nice work.

Steve,

Great job and way to go for it. The good news is that you are one step closer to even faster times. I look forward to reading your blog and even running with you more often if possible.

You ran the best you could run- not many people can say that. Great job! You ran awesome!

As a side note, you win the award for shortest marathon blog entry, especially for a 2:25 guy.

Ashman, the dark horse keeps showing up, great race. Nice to see you at the party. It almost seems like this dark horse has secret powers, X man, or something. Amazing with your ability to keep coming back with great times.

From Chad on Tue, Oct 09, 2007 at 00:36:08

I don't know about the Dark Horse business, you're a consistent threat at all distances. Great job on the PR!!
