Another dissapointing race.. But I refuse to let this put me down.  I suspect a combination of being aerobically deficient, age, and possibly some underlying  issues that are still lingering such as anemia, liver health and hematocrit levels. Getting back to full health and speed is taking longer than I thought.  Getting in to see the doctor next week so hopefully I'll get some answers soon.  The good news is I don't feel beat up physically unlike other races in the past.

I finished it though and that was after all the really true test for me on this one:)

That is a tough course, at least compared to all the other races in Utah. I guess Park City is harder, but dealing with all that monotonous flat and running east into the rising sun is not easy. Another marathon under your belt...

So sorry Steve I had the same experience on sat, at least you finished. I really think everything has to be right on point to marathon well.

The marathon is a tough game. Like Kam said, though, getting another one under you belt is a good thing going forward. I like your perspective - don't let it get you down!

Every step in the right direction is a good one. Keep it up and things have a way of working out in the end. Even though your report is brief it sounds like you got out of this race what you needed.

good marathon Steve. obviously not on par with what you're capable of, but still a strong performance all things considered. seems like the perfect warmup before SO JO!
