Easy 5 miles today. 7-8/min/mile.  Felt good and the pace just naturally kind of migrated towards sub 7/minute for some reason.  Good sign though because lately I have felt rather sluggish.  I think one more week of easy low mileage should bring me back to where I need to be recovery wise for base aerobic training.  In hindsight however from my run today, I can see that I had slipped into a state of overtraining possibly before TOU.   I just didn't see it coming because my body was in such a state of funk from so much caffeine, lack of sleep and calories.   I'm not completely sure of this but it does appear evident with some outside observation and concurrence from Sasha.   This is why even the best athlete's like Gebreselassie and others still retain the services of a good coach.  Anybody can teach themselves how to run a marathon but objectivity and perspective are the important things good coaching gives to an athlete.

Yeah - you really jumped the mileage up there. But sometimes you have to do things like that in order to cope with what life throws at you.

Back to running lately? Your last entry looks enthusiastic to say the least. Glad to see that. I'm thinking about getting a membership at Golds for snowy winter days. Do you like them?
