Went up through the Sandy bench area for a grinding little 12 mile marathon pace run. 10 miles in 59:05. Total time-1:12: 37 with cooldown. I can't keep tapering every other week this is getting ridiculous... PM-2 miles easy jogging. Played a little soccer with Ian also. He is playing in a leaguefor the first time. I noticed how rapid his leg turnover is and it must be at least 190 per minute! Plotted the 10 mile course on the tool feature for future reference. Sasha always seems to get such amazing accuracy with these applications. Since I don't have a garmin 305 this little program has been very useful.

I've noticed with you guys and your busy race schedule up there, it would be very hard to really keep up strong workouts week after week. So you have to focus on just a couple and prepare for them and run through the race - BUT... who wants to race and not be fully rested and ready to run fast? Tough call.

Nice workout though.

I agree on that it's getting tough. Every other week is just too frequent, unless they're all 5k's. I'm just running through this race, no real taper. At least after this 10-miler, we have a full four weeks to do some hard training and get in half marathon shape.

For me a taper does not make that much of a difference unless it is the marathon. Even then, I have trained through marathons before and ran them OK. Sometimes training through a race gives you better results - you do not feel the pressure to perform.

Steve - I'd take GMap Pedometer over Garmin 305 for distance any day as far as the accuracy is concerned. And especially for the elevation profile. The only advantage of Garmin is the convenience of immediate feedback. That, and the heart rate monitoring in conjunction with the pace.
