Trying to get back into the groove. It is amazing that in the past I was running 80+ miles per week and made it work. While right now I don't feel like I have enough time to get the work and family done much less run. It is a strange thing time and our perception of what to do with it. Or maybe it is just that I take on too much. In any case I will do what I can as that is all one can do. Commuter run into lab.

Balance is a hard thing to find. I've settled into a pattern that I think will work well for me running 50-60 mpw with doubles every other day. Running doubles everyday for months on end is not sustainable for me, my work, and my family. Going to every other is working well for me.

Eric, I hear you. I don't know how anybody can do both competitive training and a competitive career, especially the hours needed for experiments. I hope your stuff is going well and the "reagents" I gave you the other week will yield something interesting. Will you be at MIG today?

Its hard. A big reason I like doubles every other day is that I don't feel pressure to end my work day prematurely. In reality, high mileage days are more important than high mileage weeks so a 6,12,6,12,6,12 is going give a much better training effect than 9,9,9,9,9,9. I'll crank up the mileage about 8 weeks out from Boston if I can fit it in.

I should be a MIG today. I'm hopeful the reagents work too. I've about finished making all the viruses I need to validate my knock-down model.

This is the perfect time to take it easy and let our bodies repair from all the damage we did to it this summer. Then we can all ripe it up next year.

Josse, I agree. Take the rest, take the lessons, and use both to have a huge coming out in the spring. My goal is to be training competitively again by March.
