Commute run into work. Back there again now... With the race out of the way I have a bit of catch-up to accomplish. Still struggling with what the next marathon will be. I have tossed around the idea about Ogden and Cody was kind enough to send me some info on it. My main thing is to get it on the calendar no matter how far out.

Great course for a marathon. I may not have run my fastest time on it but I feel like Ogden was my best so far. The only things I don't like about it are the size and the stupid lottery. Other than that, I think if your having a good day there you will run really well. Be sure to train hard on hills though..

Did you do the Striders series as your build-up?

From steve ash on Thu, Sep 20, 2012 at 21:05:35 from 174.52.177.84

Yes, and it worked really well especially since the weather was phenomenal that year:)

I actually went a whole 3-4 days this time around before starting to thinking about when and where the next marathon will be. After Philly and Boston, I was already in that mode after 3 hours! :-)

Ogden does seem like a nice one... UVM is also a well-organized race if the lottery thing didn't work out.

I like the idea of UVM but am worried about what might be going on next summer. I want a spring marathon without much travel. I could do SLC again and try and break my PR on the course but it has changed. Alternatively what are your thoughts on the Provo City marathon?

From Jake K on Fri, Sep 21, 2012 at 10:37:47 from 155.100.226.191

It would be better if the elevation profile (first/second halves) were reversed :-)

Wouldn't be a bad option by any means for that time of year. Not sure how competitive it would be for you, though... that could definitely be a "23 miles in no-man's land" type of race. But I guess almost any marathon could end up that way.

From Adam RW on Fri, Sep 21, 2012 at 11:00:38 from 155.101.152.123

But could I then crack the top 3? This year probably not, but the year before I could have been right in the mix. I'll toss this idea around with the others...
