17°F at start and 23°F at finish. Very little wind.

I had trouble falling asleep last night but I was asleep I slept soundly. I even woke up a few minutes before my alarm at 4:47am. You know you are crazy when? Your water freezes during your run. I carried two and they both froze by mile 5. I was dressed fine though and otherwise enjoyed the run. Did the same as last Saturday (minus the dog) running miles 2-14 of the course and then back direct. I messed up with the Garmin so I do not have the total time. However, I caught it and since I was on the course I just waited until the next mile mark and restarted so I only missed a mile. Slower than last week and my quads were tired and the lack of water may have done something as well. Avg. 8:02 HR 142

I was going to say what a smart man about yesterday's blog and running in the sunshine, then I read this.

17 Degrees?! Do take care.

Those frozen water bottles would've come in handy when dealing with that dog!

Brilliant.

Not sure why the entry is in bold. JD, maybe next time I can prefreeze one just in case. I will have to admit that about 1/2 mi out I picked up a rock just in case and carried it while I went along that stretch. Fortunately as in the other 100X I've run past there the dog was no where to be seen.

I had done the same thing on a route I used to run where these two dogs would always "greet me". About a quarter mile before I reached the them I would start scouting for a stick or a rock and carry it with me until I had passed the danger zone. Lol!

Nice running is such torrid conditions, sorry the water froze ouch ! I would have needed the water myself...

Glad there was no dog sightings too. the frozen water could have helped with an ice bath maybe LOL
