Hi JD, It is nice to be back. Even if only for fitness. I really need it. It is great to see how well you are running this year. Happy 4th!

Nice to see you again Adam!

Adam, Good to see that you are getting better. I injured my knee about 4 weeks ago and I am slowly realizing that my summer race schedule is probably shot. I suppose we can always live to race another day. I hope you had a great 4th.

Hi Fritz, I am sorry to hear about the injury. It looks like you had an amazing spring up to that point. I knew about the SLC win I did not know about the Ogden win or the Squaw Peak 50. Was your knee diagnosed or just in pain? I hope that it clears up quickly so that you can hope back on that winning streak...

Adam, I saw a doctor and I think it was diagnosed as some type of IT Band Syndrome. I am doing PT two times a week but it hasn't improved much. What is the issue with your knee? I remember that you had a problem with your hip.

From Adam RW on Tue, Jul 06, 2010 at 23:22:02 from 155.101.152.123

My knee has been this way as long as I have been racing. This is just the first time that taking 3 wk off didn't fix it. In fact this is the most time I have taken off since I started running distance. The hip was diagnosed with a tear but the first time I saw the surgeon it didn't seem like surgery was the route to go. He sent me to PT. I did that at the office twice a week and at home another 10 times per week (often AM and PM). It seemed to be helping a little but then stalled out. June was just a hectic month between travel and work and I stopped with the PT. I started up again this week combined with the light mileage. We'll see where that takes me. I postponed the ortho visit today until next month because without new symptoms I didn't want to through away the $25 co-pay... Next week I'll add in a little more mileage and take it from there. I hope that something works out for you. The IT is a big portion of my knee pain as my right IT is shorter than it should be because the femur curves out. I have attempted stretching and "the stick" helps some as well...
