Work is starting to hammer me again. Between two talks and a poster to present in June I have three trips in the next 8wk! Very different than my normal schedule. At least one trip is non-work...

As part of my stress relief and as a confidence builder for the half coming up (June 11th!!!). I did the exact same run as yesterday but today I hammered the Firehouse and Memory Grove miles with ~.75 mi rest in between. My main goal being to negative split the second with a hoop dream of having both under 5min.

~2 mi warm-up
Fire House 5:09.8 HR 175 Ascent 30ft Descent 210ft
Memory Grove 5:00.8 HR 176 Ascent 22ft Descent 209ft

Overall happy with the run. Only thing sore is my calves. Another busy work day tomorrow we'll see how some rest goes.

I love the pic of you and your two cuties in the stroller! Nice run today!

Allie, Nice win on Monday. How are the shins now? Do you think you'll make it for the half or sit tight and get 100% before you do something that long.

Amy, I'm sorry about your injury and misbehaving knee. I find the best solution for me for knee pain is a hot epsom salt bath followed by an ice massage. I have frozen dixie cups and you peel back the paper and use the ice block to massage the sore area.

thanks adam. my shin isn't doing so well right now, so i'm not running until i (hopefully) get some answers from the doc tomorrow. i would rather be 100% for des news than to continue racing now -- i'm only perpetuating the injury, it seems.

Allie, That sounds like a great plan. It is harder that way but in the end I think you'll benefit with the extra 1+ month of preparation/recovery.

Thanks for the tip. I am going to try to run again tomorrow. I better get the Dixie cups in the freezer in the morning! :)

I sure hope it does the trick. It helps me and I try and do it with any run longer than 10 mi or harder than marathon pace.
