Single: Life sure makes you laugh sometimes. So we managed to make it through Chicago without having some crazy driver hit us only to have our car a victim of a hit-n-run last night. We had it on the street because our roof is being done and there were nails everywhere. Then this morning I got up extra early because I'm leaving early today. When I got to the car I see that the back of my car was "smashed". Luckily the airbags didn't go off and the car seems fully functional but the rear-left side is messed up. Of course there was no note so it will be the mystery crash... After waiting to place the police report I finally made it into work about normal time but decided I NEEDED a run first anyway. So I went to and up City Creek and back. The weather was very nice ~50-55F overcast with only a few drops of rain. I kept it very easy as I still only managed 6hrs of sleep last night and was a little upset about the car. Mi 13-T1 Avg. 8:16 HR 145

I can definitely see where you would be upset. I hope your deductible isn't too high? Nice run and easy pace. Your doing excellent after recovering from the marathon.

Unfortunately the deductable is high enough. I just got the estimate and we will have to go through insurance...

Sorry about the incident with the car (you and vehicles had not had a good relationship this year). At least time it was only the car. The run was definitely needed.

Been there before...2 yrs ago our '77 firebird got hit while it was in our apartment complex parking garage! totally smashed up the left back side. No note or anything...and I had parked it as far away from any other car as possible, so somebody really, really had to go out of their way to hit it. Best thing to do is just accept the loss.

AdamR you are all too right. It just wasn't money we had/wanted to spend in that way at the time. The tough part is it isn't a repair that has to be done but we may get it done to prevent rusting issues... A guy I spoke to this week had an even better (worse) story. His car was completely smashed and someone left a note. This is all it said, "Sorry I hit your car." No name, number anything just that... Oh well as you said it is time to just move on.
