Single: Well thank you all for humoring me with my April Fools’ Day entry. I’m sorry it has taken so long to get back to the real workout. The last two workdays have been painful. So the real deal with the 60 quarter workout is that the intro is all true, I just haven’t done the workout yet, maybe sometime this summer. I did get to sleep early to wake up early but because I had to be into work by 6am. I made my deadlines last week but now I have all this makeup work. I ended up working 9hrs not including the run break then a few more at night. So I didn’t get out for my run until ~3:15pm, this was fine as the weather was ok by that time. The workout was 2x3mi at MP. The course was lab to Memory Grove via a stint past Dry Creek and then up City Creek and back directly. Both MP stretches were planned on downhill sections so I figured I would watch my HR more than the pace but shoot for about 160-170 and 5-10 sec faster per mile for the aide adjustment so 5:45-50 pace. The run went well and I’m feeling much better than the last couple of weeks. However, it still felt a little harder than I would have like. Here is the workout in table form. Keep in mind that the values are only as accurate as the Garmin. The ascent and descent summed together equals -116 but everything I did was out and back…

Adam, How long were your rest intervals?

From air darkhorse on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 09:39:37

Great run by the way!

From Chad on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 11:25:54

The weird thing is that I wouldn't be at all surprised if you actually did this workout! Nice post.

From jtshad on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 11:29:31

An enthralling read...oh April Fool's day to you too!

Keep running strong (and for real!).

From josse on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 11:31:47

So did you or didn't you do this workout. Or was it just speed work for the fingers?

From Adam RW on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 12:12:08

Josse, Not yet. I didn't think it was a good idea so close to the marathon. Someday I will. The problem is in the book he is pretty messed up after it. I have done the 25 in ~75 and that stands as my hardest workout ever.

I hope you enjoyed the April fools' joke though. Today I have planned 6 mi at pace in the afternoon 2x3mi...

From Mom on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 12:13:16

That was mean, you really had me believing you. But Happy April Fool's day to you too.

From wheakory on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 12:20:36

Adam, Adam, you were getting me excited, and I was thinking reading the post that Salt Lake will be a piece of cake compared to this (and it still will for you).

Nice Job. Maybe you should start to write your own novel. Your a very talented writer/blogger.

From air darkhorse on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 16:19:11

You got me! I forgot that it was April fools

From Sasha Pachev on Tue, Apr 01, 2008 at 16:27:54

Well, the workout was believable, and, knowing you, something you could possibly have considered. It would have been easier to do this as 9x2K, I think.

Thanks everyone for humoring me with my "joke". But all your positive comments have now made it a face that I will have to finally do this workout someday. In the meantime I've finally posted what I really did yesterday.
