Post-doc candidate dinner and another very busy day. No run... I did play around with my daughter's in the backyard for a little and just that running was enough to aggravate my knee... One week from tomorrow for the doctor's update.

I manned up and hit the treadmill for my mile before stretches even though the late night.

Question: For you barefoot runners, how long did it take your feet to callus over? Mine are covered in painful blisters...

Hopefully it's a good update.

Me too. Also, I posted a question you may have some insight into...

I've never gone barefoot, sorry.

From Adam RW on Fri, Mar 19, 2010 at 22:43:41 from 24.10.132.131

Yeah, my bad. I realized that after I wrote the question. The blisters are starting to turn to calluses. Fortunately with only a mile or two a day they have plenty of time to heal and don't get that bad to begin with.

Nan, My bad I wasn't thinking. I should have gone straight to you and Aaron. Thank you for the link and for the heads up to check back at your transition. If it wasn't for all my other aches and pains I think I would be having a good time with it.

Adam - oops, was logged in as nan when I posted this.

If you are getting blisters when you run barefoot it is probably because you need to adjust your form. You should read http://www.barefootkenbob.com for tips on running barefoot, there is a ton of pertinent information there.

I rarely get blisters running barefoot. When I raced a 5K barefoot I got some painful blisters because of the friction of pushing a pace I was unaccustomed to.

When I have gotten blisters, I have found it completely painless to run on them within 2 days. The feet seem to rebound and heal really fast.

You can read my november and december posts from last year if you want to see my early experiences running barefoot.
