Married for 44 years to a wonderful and supportive wife. She's run 2 marathons herself in our earlier years so that helps.  4 boys, all married, and 10 grandchildren.  2 sons are runners. I celebrated 39 years of running madness, insanity, or at least OCD, on August 23rd, 2021.

5 easy miles from gym to Grimm's gate and home direct.  Felt decent after first doing 50 minutes at the gym.  20 min. elliptical, 10 minutes on upright cycle, 10 minutes on recumbent, and 10 minutes on spin bike.  Encouraging workout today.  Next week Tina and I plan on hitting the trails in Settlement Canyon, barring anymore snow/rain.

Sorry to hear about Boston and your back. What happened to your back? This is a more common injury from playing football, car accidents, etc. VERY PAINFUL, sorry to hear about it!

The MRI shows L4, L5 disk degeneration. Sounds bad, but no immediate surgery. Some get feeling a bit better with some time. I have had some improvement and have been able to run every other day. My long runs may be over unless this begins to feel normal again for a while. I was really bad at Moab in March and couldn't walk for almost 24 hours afterward. It was coming on similarly at Boston so I decided to step of at 15. I still had 3 days of walking ahead of me in DC, and I was able to do that and enjoy the rest of the vacation. Sorry to hear about your achilles. Rest, ice, drugs, and time and you'll get through it, I'm sure. You're a great runner and all great ones have a setback now and then. Hang in there.

That just sounds downright painful. My sister and father in law have the same issues (my FIL has had surgery, but it did not really help him much). Glad that you were able to still walk around for the trip after Boston, but I bet it was hard to make the choice to drop out! I will have to go read your report this afternoon when I get time!

I am really good. I need a break from running, I am burnt out. So this has not upset me at all. Now, if it hangs around for too long, then I will get MAD!!!! But for now, I am enjoying the time off!

Good for you Kelli. Let me know if you get fat.
