I ran 16 miles today as part of the game ball run with BYU Army ROTC cadets where we receive the BYU vs. Utah game ball from the UofU Army ROTC cadets at he point of the mountain and then run it to BYU for the game. The average pace for the 16 miles I ran was 7:15 pace with the majority actually at sub 7:00. This is the most I have run in one day since my knee surgery. Overall things felt good and today I am a little sore but not too bad. The pace felt easy even though the legs are not used to going that far. One of our cadets ran the entire thing and we even added a little at the end so he could get a full marathon in. He has never run over 13 miles before but can run a sub 10:00 2 mile. We finished the marathon in 3:11 and he felt great. The pace was very easy for him and he had no issues whatsoever. He only runs about 30 miles a week on average right now as well. I think with proper training he could be a pretty fast marathon runner.
