Did they cast your foot or put you in a boot? Make sure your nutrition is good, you need calcium and alot of it. 8 weeks will fly for you just remember even if aqua jogging is boring, at least your keeping your mobility. Running is boring if you think about it. "You just keep your mind set away from the pain that ales you". (Walter Brown) So that will be my 4th recovery tip for the Lucias 12 step program for recovery.

No cast or boot... I've been reading about stress fractures and apparently some studies show that leg braces help recover faster... I may call my doctor and ask him if I should wear one.

We'll have to get Sasha to publish your 12 steps right next to the top 10 excuses to miss a run!

Wow, I dont know if im worthy of that!? Yeah, you may want to try to wear a boot for a week at a time. Ive never had a stress fracture. Just a broken pelvis(23 places) and it took me years after that to be able to run again. So just remember it could be worse. Ok step 5 to recovery, IT COULD BE WORSE ATTITUDE! Im gratefull for my little stress fracture, now I can give my body the rest its been nagging me to give it.

We're not worthy!!! (Wayne's World) :)

A "could be worse" attitude is my motto in life. Until now, whenever anything went wrong I kept telling myself "but it could be worse - at least I can still run". Now I tell myself "It could be worse, my family is healthy". Honestly, this is a very small bump on the road, thanks for reminding me. You're almost 1/2 way with the recovery steps!

I love Waynes World. that is funny.

Cross training SUCKS and is VERY boring :) (yes, I am cracking myself up) I need a nap. Sorry ;D

From missee on Fri, Aug 08, 2008 at 18:23:09

I've never done aqua jogging, but I imagine it can get boring. Good thing you can entertain yourself w/ your thoughts and you can start talking to yourself so you don't feel so lonely! Yeah, people will look at you funny and the big man in the white coat with the big net might come to take you away, but that's ok!

Good luck. Hopefully your recovery will be speedy and successful. My running partner is just now returning to running and I've missed her terribly!
