"Reunited, and it feels so good!" That's how I felt about going back to running today! Amazing, and hot. My tendon didn't hurt at all, so thanks everyone for encouraging me to taking a few days off, as hard as it was. Ran 4 miles from home around RFK stadium and it was sunny and waaaay too hot, so I decided to go back home to drink some water and wet my head... then went out again and ran another 4 miles around the Capitol and back home. Could've gone a bit longer but wanted to take it slow on my first day back. My right shin hurts only very little. Other than the heat, I felt pretty good. It's going to be a great week!

Thats cool your feeling good. I was interested about you taking a break to get water. I know that Paul Peterson does that in the morning. He'll run a mile and then go home, eat, stretch a bit and then go on his run. I still have to try that!

It works well for me; I worry that I'd be tempted to stay home when I take the break, but that's never happened... so far, that is!

Yeah I know, Ive also heard from someone that they do a little yoga and then go out and the circulation in blood and stretching helps. Its amazing all the things people tell you huh!?

Yes, it's amazing how much I keep learning about running, it never ends! Which leads me to ask you: what do you guys do for water during your long runs in Park City or elsewhere? I'm researching hydration packs and belts to see if I should use one - I've tried one of those belts with four little bottles but it just bounces around and bothers me... any ideas? I always get so thirsty during my long runs!

I hate carrying water so I try to run in places that have a water fountain. At park city there wasnt one so I kind of suffered. I know sometimes when I run with a different group of friends, they try to get a spouse or friend to drive a pickup with water jugs and gatorade and they have a board with clothespins that hold your empty plastic cup with your name under it. Its pretty awesome. But when your not that organized, you can drive before you run and set your water bottles every so often in a concealed place. Im lucky to run up by the capitol and the canyon has a water fountain every 2 miles or so. Im pretty skinny and dont have alot of body reserve so Ive got to drink on a long run.

I hate having to carry water, but when it's hot you it's best to hydrate. I have a hand held water bottle that is not to bad. There is a website that looks similar to the one I have. http://www.rockcreek.com/products/listing/item8861.asp?ref=tl_rc_bzrt
