Was supposed to volunteer at a 20-miler, but woke up with a terrible back ache. Not sure if it's from the bike fall or from yesterday's heavy lifting to set up the finish line stuff... or from stress from trying to figure out what the heck to do with my life and career. Thankfully, I hadn't signed up officially to volunteer and was just going to show up, so they were not expecting me. I did some stretches during the day and took a walk around the neighborhood, and it felt a bit better.

On the seventh day till running
the scale said to me
"You've gained a lot of weight!
You need to control your ea-ting ha-abits better
unless you want to look like a whaaaaaaaaale!"

I will check what Brand mine is and let you know. They are a little sensitive but if you use it at the same time every day it registers pretty good. I have also noticed ankle sprains and temperature increases and decrease effect it but it is a good indicator how you do from day to day. Are you to dehydrated our over worked?

My boss swears by his and he went in and got a full-blown evaluation down and it was 2/10ths of a lb off of his scale.

I have varied from 167 lbs to 235 lbs in my adult life so I find it at least lets me know what I can realistically expect to drop and when things have gone to far. Also if you suddenly lose 8 lbs you can figure out real quick did I just drop 6 lbs of water and muscle or did I really lose some fat. Not many people want to loss muscle from body composition.

Thanks Matt! Yeah, I try not to focus on weight too much either, and I am very muscular... but when I can't fit on my clothes, that's when I really start to worry...

I'm definitely not dehydrated; may be over-hydrated if anything. I might have been overworked - I think what happened in the past few weeks is that I haven't been getting enough sleep, so instead my body has been telling me to eat to make up for the lack of energy. I'll get it under control soon. Thank you!

Wall-e, I'm always smiling, and not trying to kill myself more than YOU!

On the 7th day 'till running Lucia started to have a breakdown ;)

She broke her back :(

she beat up her scale :)

On the 6th day 'till running Lucia smiled and relaxed and had a beautiful day and did not worry one speck about crappy day #7 :D

Hehe...you continually amuse me. If you really want to be lazy, I can chauffer you around in my fancy new car! It's going to be perfect for when I move to Colorado!

From Walter on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:16:17

Luce! I have the tendency to push my bodies capacity more then it can handle. My spirit is getting tired of it!

Aaron, What kind of car did you get and if Lucia doesnt want a ride, then come pick me up. lol We can cruise for chicks!

From Aaron-PSU on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:18:24

Walter, Lucia would probably only ride in my car if Pepper was in there too! She's using me to get to him. I got a 2008 Toyota Corolla Sport (Red).

From Walter on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:26:22

You know how women are Aaron! Too bad I didnt have a fancy Sports car and a cute dog to impress the ladies when I was dating. My wife must have been using me for my brain to get to me I guess? lol

From Lucia on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:29:32

Walter, did you mean to say "my wife must have NOT been using her brain when she married me"? Now you can LOL!!!

From Lucia on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:32:54

For your information, guys, I once wouldn't date a guy because he had a brand new red Porsche. I figured his priorities in life were NOT similar to mine if he had a car like that.

Now, if he had had a dog like Pepper... maybe I could've forgiven the Porsche :)

From Aaron-PSU on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:41:19

Pepper does have much more redeeming qualities than I do. He really makes up for all my deficiencies.

Adorable doggies are much better than nice cars.

From Lucia on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:47:34

Well, you know what they say, Aaron, dogs resemble their owners ;)

Congrats on the new ride!

From marion on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 21:54:05

Lucia- you are right on the money with the car thing. I tell my girls and all their friends that they want to date the guys with the ugliest pieces of crap cars. Those guys have confidence, they are taller than the guys with the flashy cars and they typically can at least jump start if it it dies. Crappy cars build character! ;) (cute dogs help, too)

From Aaron-PSU on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 22:01:26

Hahaha...Luck me then. Thanks! :)

Marion, I just traded my 16 yr old car in because she was about to blow an engine. Trust me, I LOVED my crappy car, but the new one is nice too.

Nothing can beat a cute dog.

From marion on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 22:26:00

Yes, all good men, after putting enough love into their POS's (sorry) deserve an AWESOME car! Forturnatly/unfortunatly my husbands idea of the coolest cars in the world are old Volkswagons! Notchbacks are his favorite.

Congratulations on your new car Aaron! :D New cars are VERY cool! Everytime I ride in a new sporty car I pray for my hubands mid life crisis to begin ;)

From Lucia on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 22:28:55

Marion you are just too funny! What is POS? I love beat-up cars too, and there's something very attractive about a guy who's secure enough to not care about having a beat-up car! No worries, Aaron, I know your old car wouldn't have made it to Colorado, otherwise you probably would've kept it!

From marion on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 22:42:50

It's a bad word Lucia :( It's "Piece of S___" :) Sorry- it's a red neck white trash term for the beloved form of transportation that we are suggesting breeds GREAT men :)

From Walter on Mon, Sep 29, 2008 at 23:24:03

Lucia, Ouch, very ouch! You really need to get running with all that aggressive talk! lol

From Aaron-PSU on Tue, Sep 30, 2008 at 06:22:57

I too was wondering what POS was. Dang Marion, don't call my former ride a POS!

Yes Lucia, the potential move was a primary driver in getting this new ride. That, and the interior is a dark grey/black so Peppers paw prints and hair won't show up! :)

From Lucia on Tue, Sep 30, 2008 at 09:23:45

Lots of blogging but not much running, Aaron, what's going on with you? Chop, chop, man, MCM is in less than a month!

From marion on Tue, Sep 30, 2008 at 10:18:37

I'm sorry Aaron. It's a term of endearment around out home. And remember it's that "kind" of car that gets the really HOT chicks :D
