Taking a couple of forced days off - sometimes you have to be there for your friends...

I decided (realized) that as many of you were pointing out, I should not run a marathon in December, but instead postpone it as much as possible to give my leg the best chance to heal and to have more time to get faster. So, I'll be running the PF Chang's Rock and Roll marathon in Phoenix, January 18, and hopefully will then have the chance to meet some of you fellow bloggers out there.

24.5 days and counting...

Hey babe- if that is what you need to do, you must do it! It is WAY better to go forward slow(ish:) and do what needs to get done, than rush and blow it all to kingdom come. You are going to be GREAT!!!

Yeah!!! 24 days!!! Woo Hooo!! So where are you going to run on your first day back?

From luzylew on Fri, Sep 12, 2008 at 16:25:46

The 'forced' days off will only make you want it more. You'll be ready in January to 'rock-n-roll' AND you'll be glad you skipped pushing a December deadline (holidays, finals, etc.). Besides, it takes a while to get back into your groove (that is if you don't want to further injure yourself). It's mostly a about the journey, and only ocasionally about the finish line (at least for me).

Awesome! Now you have a plan you can focus on! R&Rs are so much fun! And, it will be nice and warm! Hope everything is ok for your friend!

Be well, talk soon.

Wow, I am amazed at you! You always told me you know yourself better than anyone else and now you can BQ from R&R Arizona. I will make sure it happens. You will do fine! You are such the humanitarian!

Lucia!!!!! I figured you'd end up going and doing that marathon. It seemed like it was the one you really wanted to do while we talked about it during our hike last weekend. Your ambition is contagious... I can't wait until you're completely healed so we can run again!!!!

Where are you Lucia? I miss you adventures!
