Ran to work from home, the long way (Pennsylvania to Mall around Jefferson to Rock Creek Parkway up to M st. ) - very hot already at 6:30 a.m. (84 degrees). Went very slow because of the heat and my backpack, took exactly 1 hour including frequent stops to drink and wait for stop lights.

School starts today... very nervous but hope to be able to run lots still. I just need to manage my time well.

------------

School was great! I think I'm really going to like this class.

After class the weather got ugly here - or did it? Without hesitating, after school I put everything in my backpack in plastic bags, changed into my running clothes, and went out to run home, from Dupont Circle. 4.5 very wet miles, including some sleet, lots of thunder and lightening, and I was back home. I've never felt so alive!!!

The bad news: my shins hurt quite a bit... I think I'm running too much and need to cut back a little. So I will...

You're doing a really good job considering the horrid conditions we're experiencing. Good luck with starting school again. I feel your pain, yet it's all worth it in the long run! :)

Felicidades! You overcame the elements and still manage to do everything. Work, school, and running. You are the ultimate endurance athlete. That is amazing that you have the dedication to put in your running with all your other goals. You are inspirational. I need your mind set.

I like the philosophy that it is better to be slightly undertrained than overtrained and injured. Good luck with the shins. I love when I find classes that I enjoy, you are lucky. And you know what, with all your dedication there is no doubt that you will be going to Boston!
