Ran to the office the short way on an absolutely positively gorgeous DC morning, 45 degrees, a bit windy, blue sky, shining on me, nothing but blue sky, do I see.

Right shin a bit sore but feels better after it has warmed up. Took a few walking breaks to loosen it up.

A bunch of friends and I rented a cabin near Luray, just outside Shenandoah National Park, to spend New Year's eve and a couple of days after that. I see lots of biking and some running in those days, so I'm thinking of going to another spin class tonight to get me in shape to tackle the hills of the famous Skyline Drive... we'll see if that happens...

I cannot believe 2008 is over.

Good running! How fun will that be for new years!? oh and 45 degrees this morning. Ill take that for all its worth. You probably feel like your running in the south after being in Colorado huh?

From Camille on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 10:36:46

Nice Run! I've never been to DC... but it's on my list of places to visit. I bet it was beautiful. :o) Good luck with the spin class. I've never tried it... I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be too pretty :o)

From Lucia on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 10:47:49

Yeah, Wall-e, that altitude was killing me, seriously, I thought I was in good shape but there going up a flight of stairs was painful!

Camille, if you ever make it out here you've got the best tour guide in the area (me) and I've got an extra room for you too :) Spin classes are so hard but gets your heart rate pumping like nothing else, you should try one out!

From Camille on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 10:55:29

Oh, Lucia! I will *definitely* keep that in mind! I have wanted to explore DC forever! All that history. Arizona has history too, don't get me wrong, but there is something special about visiting places with significant American History that just makes you overwhelmed with Patriotism. I love that feeling. :o)

From Eric Day on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 11:02:55

Running with a blue sky is just so wonderful.

Sorry, got to go, my architect just arrived.

From Burt on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:46:42

Don't forget to bring a change of clothes and your personal hygeine kit for your trip. Hopefully the cabin has running water.

Camille - you totally offended Lucia with the patriotism comment.

From Camille on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:50:39

I doubt that

From Burt on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:53:46

She told me she wants to kick your Yankee butt...her words.

From Lucia on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:55:25

LOL!!! Burt, you forget I'm a U.S. Citizen now! I'm just like you, except with an accent... and I can't be president... (yet - The Governator is going to change that, I know it!) :)

On my run to work I always think of the sights I pass - the Capitol, the White House, the Washington Monument - and think about all the historic moments that happened right there! So many decisions that marked the state of the world today happened a few hundred feet from where I run! Lincoln was there, Kennedy was there, Roosevelt... it just blows my mind to think about that!

From Camille on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:56:40

LOL. I'm sure she could take me! However... I doubt Lucia said that. Everyone has patriotism for their country. I'm sure Lucia knew what I meant. :o)

Lucia - we're still friends, right? If you want to beat me up, that's fine too. :o)

From Camille on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 12:58:51

Burt - You totally offended Lucia by forgetting her US citizenship. She told me she wants to kick your Yankee Butt now!

;o)

From Eric Day on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 13:07:03

You gringos want to kick everybodys butt!

Don't have better things to do?

From Camille on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 13:08:58

Eric - Hilarious. No. Nothing better. Just work. :o)

From Burt on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 13:09:55

Haha, Eric. I was just trying to start a cat fight.

Camille, did she really say that?

From Eric Day on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 13:15:06

Burt, I know. Just pulling everybody's string.

=)

From Lucia on Tue, Dec 30, 2008 at 13:59:18

Hahaha Eric that is so true! Make love not war I say!

It's pretty much impossible to offend an Argentine... except for my mother... she gets offended very easily...
