Not good news from the doc. The bone scan shows shin splints on both legs, and a stress fracture on the left lower tibia. No running for 8 weeks, then I have a follow-up appointment October 6 and he seems confident that I should be able to start running again after that.

Thanks everyone for your advice on aqua jogging, I'll be doing lots of that, biking, and learning to swim! And volunteering for you runners.

Enjoy your runs!

I am SO sorry! :( You are going to be such a great swimmer by the time this is all done! We want to hear ALL of your cross training adventures everyday! :)

That is so cool that you are going to put some effort into being a volunteer also! You will be the best volunteer out there! Good luck in the next 2 months!

Hey, I just read you "other" blog- "More COWBELL" is our FAVORITE snl skit! We use that line all the time!

I'm sorry about your grandmother :( Mine passed away in May. (My mom's mom too.) It can be really hard.

Wow Lucia, that really stinks. You'll be back on the trail in no time (8 weeks) and they will go by fast. Needless to say, you now have time to learn the freestyle stroke you've been wanting to learn! :)

Let me know if you need a pool buddy--I think I'm half fish.

Sorry to hear about your injury, that is the worst. And you were doing so well :(

Take care of yourself and you'll be back before you know it!
