Nine pretty fast miles with my friend Brian early this morning, on the Mall, across to Virginia and back on the Mt. Vernon trail. I didn't want to push the pace or the distance too much because I'm running a 1/2 marathon tomorrow and want to do well there, but I felt pretty good throughout the run.

My total miles for this week is just a bit short of 60, which is perfect. (note that I deleted the 3 miles I had logged on Tuesday which were really a 15 mile bike ride... Don't need them!)

My goal for tomorrow is to finish in 1:50, which is about the same I did in my half marathon back in December. That one had rolling hills and curves too; the one tomorrow should be harder and hillier, but I think I'm in much better shape than in December. Having said that, I'm not going to push myself too-too hard tomorrow... don't want to get injured and will listen to my body. Plan is to bring two energy gels and take one 45 minutes after starting and another one 30 minutes after that to fuel me up for the last 30 minutes. I'll also drink some gatorade if they have some at aid stations.

Most of all, I'm looking forward to meeting fellow fastrunningblogger Jill tomorrow as well!

Good luck on your race tomorrow. I think with all the miles you've been running that you can run a 1:50..

Lucia, I think you will easily break 1:50. I came within 25 seconds on much less mileage than you a couple of years ago, so I know you can do it! I predict 1:47-1:48 range. The energy gels are a good plan! Looking forward to your race report!
