It was another beautiful (hot and humid, a little) day in Washington DC - I decided to take the day off from running, after yesterday's disaster... so I metroed and biked to Alexandria, 6 miles, to my first bicycle maintenance class. It was pretty cool - soon I will be able to fix my own bike, and "pimp my ride" :)

I'll be tapering this week, cause I've had 4 weeks of 50-ish miles... I feel like I need to take a breather. And since I just bought a new bike, I can sometimes run to work and bike back and vice versa, and give my running muscles a break.

It's going to be a great week!

Yikes...i bummer days like that are rough. Probably smart to chill for a bit and use your new wheels. What kind of bike did you get??

I got a Specialized Rockhopper - the same bike (newer model) I got stolen a month ago... With my luck, I didn't want to spend more than $500 for a bike... hopefully with my new lock it'll last me more than a year this time! I'm planning on getting hybrid tires to ride it around town, but wanted to have a mountain bike cause I love riding on trails (and can't afford two bikes)

Very nice! I'm sure you'll have better luck this time. I know so many people in DC with stolen bikes...so sad. Enjoy! (...and lock it up)
