Backpacking out of our camping spot in West Virginia, 8 miles back to the car, with backpacks heavy but almost all the water gone so not as bad as before at all - mostly downhill but a few hills too. Then when I got back home I went out for a 6-mile easy run - the day was too nice to pass. My shin pain is still there but not too bad at all. I dream that one day it is completely gone!!! It'll happen, I know it! A great day overall, great ending of the 3-day backpacking trip. I feel already a little lighter, like my clothes aren't as tight as before. I'm going to weigh myself tomorrow morning... yikes!

You've probably received alot of advice regarding shinsplints but there is a good article regarding shinsplits in the June 2008 Runner's World. You ought to pick a copy up if you don't already subscribe. Kudos for sticking to the training even when you have to deal with that constant pain.
