A beautiful day here in DC - after very little sleep last night (darn those olympics!) biked to the swimming pool, did some pool jogging before meeting my new swimming coach! Our first class went pretty well, I think, and I committed to 6 more lessons throughout this next few weeks. It's not going to be easy, but I think I can manage to learn freestyle... or so I hope...

Smelling like chlorine and with green hair, I met fastboy Aaron after his 15-mile long run for some crepes at Eastern Market, a walk around the neighborhood and some good conversation. We are kindred spirits in a sense: mountain people trying to escape the dreaded city life of DC, though he has a much clearer escape plan than I do.

Did some yoga at home when I got back, then watched some Olympics while making some cherry garcia ice cream with fresh Eastern Market cherries... YUMMM!

The plan for this week: keep up with the cross-training. I don't think I'll be joining a gym after all, since I'll be doing my cardio workout swimming (and spending lots of $$ on swimming lessons...). The plan is also to get more sleep - starting... nnnnnnnnow!

What a great day, huh Lucia. It was great to see and mosey through the market with you! I've never been called a "mountain person" before. Thanks! :) I'll give you a call to possibly do lunch if I get out of my meeting at a decent hour today. Have a great week!

Thanks for your welcome! I too am dragging due to the Olympics, they are great to watch, but I need my sleep :)

When you figure out how to get more sleep, please let me know!!!

And, I will copy and paste your comment here: YOU ARE QUITE THE ATHLETIC WOMAN!

Haha the olympics have been invading my sleeping time too! Don't worry about the whole chlorine thing...my skin seriosly smelled like chlorine for a month. Keep up with the cross trainin'!

Lucia, are you a dead head, the ice cream flavor? The rools thing, there is a good story behind the spelling. Good luck on the swiming and green hair. Can your injury handle acqua jogging?

Stay Kool, with Garcia, B of BS Rools out

Hehehe... Brent, I actually thought Jerry Garcia was a football player till someone told me who he really was. I do like the Ben and Jerry's flavor though! My injury does not hurt at all, but the doctor told me no running... anything else is ok, that's why I've been biking, aqua jogging, swimming, etc. and will try some elliptical in a few days.
