Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8.66 mile bike ride with my husband.  Hills are a lot harder on a bike than on foot.

9:04 pace.  Still a little tight in the legs.  Enjoyed the leisurely pace and even enjoyed the howling wind.

7:57 average pace.  Ahh my legs are back.  Felt zippy today, even in the blustery wind.  Stretched my legs out at 6:50 pace for the last 1/2 mile.  Felt great.  A mysterious Golden Retriever showed up about a mile into my run and ran next to me the entire rest of the run.  He seemed like a super cool dog, although he did cut in front of me a handful of times and almost trip me.  I checked his collar when we got back to my house and there was no tag.  I hope he finds his way home and is not lost.  I also sorta hope he runs with me tomorrow-the company was nice and the other neighboring dogs were more concerned with him and left me alone while I was running. Nice!

8:38 average pace.  Early morning run--got it worked out that if I show up at work 4 hours early today I can get off 4 hours early.  Sweet!  I may be home by 8:00 to hang out with my family on Thanksgiving!  Unfortunately, no sign of my companion from yesterday :(  Too bad I was ready to adopt him, you could tell he was a good dog.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!

8:11 average pace but OH what a pleasant surprise on speed.  My husband accompanied me on his bike today and it was great!  2.7 mile warmup, then turned off the gravel and onto asphalt for a one mile tempo into town.  It felt pretty fast but not completely all out so I was surprised when I ran a 5:52 mile.  That would be an unofficial one mile pr.   In fact, to my knowledge I haven't run a mile under 6 minutes since 1996.  So anyway I slowed down and jogged another 1.8ish miles through town and onto the track.  Ran an 86 second 400, jogged a lap, then an 87 second 400.  Legs seemed to handle the speed comfortably.  Jogged off the track and back up to silkknitter about .8 miles before launching another 1 mile tempo through town on the sidewalk.  I was tired but just sort of let my legs "cruise" and ran a 6:16 mile.  Slowed back down for about a 3.7 mile recovery jog home.  12 miles all said and done.  This workout gives me a little confidence for a 4 mile race next weekend.

9:08 average pace.  Nice and sloooow but I had great company with my husband on his bike again.  He is such a trooper --his bottom is downright painful from the bike ride yesterday but he was determined to come with me again today and he did!  4th week in a row of 60.
