Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

The run that wasn't.  Thought I would be slick and take the kids to the track again today.  It was windy, and the sand blew into Vanessa's eyes twice and she had a complete meltdown.  So much for that.  I may try to run a little bit again this evening when my husband gets home but may not--we have a lot to do.  I  have a 22 miler tomorrow morning I may just give up for today.  Blah.

I give you permission to do so (skip the run today). You will probably wake up early tomorrow am ready to go, hopefully not 3 am!

Yeah, call it a day. Your legs will thank you tomorrow. Funny story yesterday about your kids decorating the long jump pit. :)

Oh, I wouldn't call that giving up. Sometimes our best plans just get waylaid, and it's pretty darn hard trying to run laps while your kids are crying. I bet your legs feel super good tomorrow! Hope the weather is nicer, too!!

sorry april, I accidentally answered Nan's question to me on your blog. I deleted it but it probably go to you nonetheless,,,,

The best laid plans of mice and men go oft awry.

I would look at your run today as a little bit of stretching the old legs before the big run tomorrow. If you run tonight, your body will probably not thank you tomorrow because of the lack of time between runs.

Maybe next time, it was a good try though. Hope the weather cooperates enough for you to run tomorrow, I bet you're getting the same windy cold front hitting us tonight. Maybe you're not a baby like me, though - I like to whine about the weather.

Poor Vanessa. She had so much fun building sand castle yesterday. Stupid wind! No need to run today. Your legs will be so fresh and ready for the 22 miler. Hope the weather co-operates!

You deserve an easy and short day after your speedy track run yesterday!!!

Best of luck on the 22 tomorrow, wish I could join you!
