Personal:

I was a single mom.  Two times over.  We all survived, despite the fact that I make atrocious decisions.  Then, I met a man I didn't deserve.  And he loves me so much.  And I love him. We lived in sin and bought a house for two years then hired a judge and officially got married(to our great delight and also the delight of our mothers), then a month later he was diagnosed with cancer.  Well we survived all that and he's 100% fine now.  But, we're really out of shape and really busy with kids and jobs and running just isn't my priority and there's so many other layers to all of it, but I'm running anyway.  This is my failure blog now.  Just to log that one run a week if I snag it.
Somehow that matters and I want that run recorded.

8:42 average pace.  80+ degrees yuck.  Took it very, very easy and listened to tunes.  Stretched out really good afterward.  I'll take another really easy day tomorrow and hopefully be infused with freshness for Saturday's race.  I've decided to go Joe and run without a watch for the race.  I'm going to go out with Eddy who is gunning for a 38:00.  While I think that is way too fast for me I am at least going to stay on his heels for a while if the feeling is good.

I like it! It's PR time, really looking forward to the race report. I bet you're faster than 41...even odds, any takers? 41 is the over/under. Let's turn April's blog into a mini-Vegas.

I predict 41:15, Go April!

I think the no watch will be a good strategy for you. Hopefully it isn't 80+ during the race. That is yucky.

I'll have to think before placing my bet on the over/under.

Sticking with Eddy sounds like a fun plan April - go for it! Hope the race goes your way tomorrow!!

Last year I ran my pr on this course. I would like to think I am more fit this year, but last year I was fresh-legged and feeling great. This year I am stale and heavy legged. Two weeks prior to this 10k a year ago I ran a 21:19 5k. This time, my 5k was 20:23, so, despite it all, I seem to be on a faster curve this year. "C" goal is match my pr, "B" goal is sub-41, "A" goal is the revered sub-40(and I would be ecstatic). Pull me along Eddy my friend!
