Still no running.  I think that I have an abscessed tooth.  Fever is mostly gone but my mouth is incredibly uncomfortable.  I have had very little to eat or drink since Saturday.  How realistic is it to race on Friday night?  I don't think I would be happy with running it just for the fun of it so may opt out of the race completely.

Is your appetite back now that the fever is gone? You still have a little under 72 hrs to get the body hydrated and nourished and get fully recovered.

But I can totally see how you wouldn't be happy to run it just for the fun of it. You are Andy!!! I, on the other hand, have no desire to race, so all my *races* are for fun! :)

At any rate, I think you are awesome! And I hope this *forced rest* does your body good and you're back to your former running self real soon! :)

Kind of hard to explain but the top of my stomach feels really tight so I can't eat or drink very much at a time. I don't feel nauseous, just really hard to get anything down.

Hmmm, just eat and drink more frequently! Kinda hard when your mouth feels uncomfortable too. Sip lots of smoothies and shakes! :)

Hopefully the penicillin does its job to rid of the bugs that might be causing the abscess or tightness in the esophagus.

Wow Andy. 105 would have anyone worried. And to throw in a race coming up at the end of the week. Alot of added stress. But your doing the right thing by resting. Good job on listening to your body. And getting some help. Hope you bounce back fast.

Sorry you aren't feeling up to racing, Andy. Let me know if you want me to run your bib; the time will be quite a bit slower than your usual standards.
