Last run is in the books.  Quick shake out run to loosen everything up.  I have a few sore spots that I need to roll out if I can find my stick.  Weather is looking good so it should be a great day tomorrow.

Andy,

Given Paul Peterson's advice (and both our histories of not being able to take advantage of the final downhills), I'm curious as to what sort of pace are you planning down the first 8? Are you planning on holding back to run a 1:30 half and run even or negative split to finish? I'm thinking I should aim for this, even though I don't think my fitness is there.

Good luck tomorrow Andy!

Thanks Tim and Clay.

KP - I'm doing the full. Haven't done one in 18 months and feel like I'm not mentally ready for the last 6.2 miles.

Paul - I'm thinking 6:45-6:48's for the first 8 then run comfortable through 13 and hit the half in 1:30. Probably run the big hill in 7:30 then make up the difference coming down the canyon and hold on for dear life during the last 2 miles. Sound like a good plan?

Looking at my last year splits, I went out a little fast (averaged 6:34 for first 8 )and I didn't take the rollers from 8 - 14 easy enough. I think I will try to run more like 6:40-6:45 for the first 8 downhill (but I like downhills) and ease off on the rollers to come in at 1:30 for the half. I agree hitting the big hill too fast could be a mistake, and ideally it would be nice to let loose at the dam.

Good luck to you as well! I appreciate you and Paul going over strategies, it helps clarify my view of the course.
