The battery on my Garmin died during the first mile.  Are you kidding me?  I'm not sure if I just left it on and ran the battery down or if it really only lasts 2 runs.  Felt pretty good during the run. My left hamstring is starting to act up again.  I'm hoping that it is just the cold weather that is making it flare up.

Andy, I remember that last year you had mentioned the hamstring, but it hasn't come up in a long time. Is the a recurrent problem? I hope it isn't something that continues to hamper you. So how fast are your "slow" miles?

From Andy on Thu, Dec 11, 2008 at 11:50:33

I tweaked my hamstring last January and it has been a little bothersome ever since. It isn't anything serious - just an annoyance. I put everything in "slow miles" unless it is a race. The average pace for my runs is around 7:30/mile.

I think you might have inadvertently left your Garmin on. My 305 lasts much longer than then 2 runs. If you continue to get that short of battery life from it, return it.

A fully charged Garmin should last 6 hours.

Would a more thorough warm up help with the hamstring flare up in this cold weather?

Wow, wish my slow miles were around 7:30s. Very interesting.

That's one of the great things about Costco ... they are awesome about returning malfunctioning items. (Hopefully you just left it on though.)

Here's to your hammie behaving properly this winter.

Ya lets hope you just left it on longer. They can get tempermental sometimes. Sorry to hear about the hammy acting up again.
