My eye was very tender this morning so I only put in 5.  My legs actually felt better today than they have in a long time so I was kind of frustrated that I couldn't put in more miles.  On a personal note, my dog died yesterday.  She was a 14 year old beagle and has not been doing well lately.  I had a pretty good idea on Friday that she wouldn't make it through the weekend and she finally gave in Sunday afternoon.  This will be the most difficult for my son because he has bonded with her more than anybody else.

Andy,

I am so sorry about your dog.

I hope that your son will be okay. He's had her his entire life, huh? That's got to be hard.

So sorry.

Sorry to hear about your dog, and I hope your son does okay. What did you do to your eye?

From Michelle N. on Mon, Nov 17, 2008 at 10:05:53

How long did the dr think the eye would take to heal? Ulcer in the eye sounds painful. When I was 17 snowboarded everyday that season. Long story short, last day of the season (April something), I forgot my sunglasses and it was a beautiful, t-shirt day. I got Flash Burn on my eyes and had to go to the emergency room in the middle of the night. The patched them shut for 3 days. OUCH!

I'm sorry about your dog. It is amazing how attached we get to animals.

Sorry to hear about your dog. I had to put my dog of 17 years down two summers ago and I still think of her from time to time.

Sorry to hear about your dog Andy. I know what that's like.

Have you ever seen this before?

Get that eye taken care of Andy.

Sorry to hear about your dog. Our last dog died 4 years ago and my 9 year old daughter still talks about her fondly. I think loosing a pet helps kids learn how to deal with grief and sorrow.

Sorry to hear about your dog and even more for your boy. It has to be tough. Good to hear about your legs feeling better today too. Hopefully your eye will soon be in top form again too.

Thanks everybody. I feel like I have been living a country music song this year. Things can only get better, right?

From Smooth on Mon, Nov 17, 2008 at 15:22:25

I'm sorry about your dog and for your son loosing his "beloved". When one loves deeply, the "goodbyes" really hurts. Hope your eye gets better real soon. Yes Any, things CAN only get better, they always will.

So sorry to hear about your dog! I hope only the best for you and your family in 2009!!!

Wait, what is up with your eye? What did I miss?

From JeffC on Tue, Nov 18, 2008 at 11:12:49

Sorry to hear about your dog Andy. It is always tough for kids to deal with the death of a pet, but he will get feeling better soon.

Britta - I have an ulcer on my cornea which has been a little uncomfortable.
