Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Another 5-miler with Jake. Felt comfortable going a little faster than yesterday - 8:30-8:40 pace today! I'm pretty sure I've gained 5 pounds since the marathon on Sunday...so hard to have any self-control with so much good food. Gotta enjoy it while I can!

Nice run. Maybe its good to gain a little weight so your arm warmers won't slide off.

Glad you are feeling better physically. Don't worry about the weight gain. Your body retains fluid after a marathon and everyone gains weight over the holiday anyway. :D

Plus they say it is better to train at 5lbs higher than your marathon weight to prevent injury anyway so it should be perfect. :D About the weight lifting you were asking me about, I do a lot of old school stuff. (lunges, squats, sit-ups, pushups, plans) and then 5 days a week I focus on a different muscle group in my upper body. Pretty basic but it does seem to help.

8:30-8:40, better take a few recovery days after that one! Good to see the recovery is going so well, looks like you made it through the first marathon unscathed.
