Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - JAJA run! A little warmer out today and felt pretty good.

Thought this was interesting - women vs. men runners

Saturday - 8am - Jordan River Parkway @ 3300S. We'll probably do a 10 mile out-and-back and then add on after that. I'm planning on 13 miles. Easy run (7:30-8 min)... then breakfast afterwards if anyone wants to join us.

Interesting article. Men DO spend money on shoes and clothes too - see, it's not just women (me saying over my shoulder to my husband). I'm still taller than the average guy...by 2 inches! No wonder none of the clothes ever fit me anyway.

Nice run out there! I was afraid you guys were going to say it was warm today.

So will this 'little' run be before or after Olympus? :)

15.4% for a 10k vs. 10.2% for a marathon? this is unfathomable to me.

we'll be there saturday.

RAD - Guys definitely send money on running gear. I know Jake spends way more money on shoes than I do (but that might be because he runs twice the amount that I do too!)

Scott - Oh, I meant we were going to do Olympus on Sunday! But if you want to join us, you are more than welcome to!

Allie - I do still hate the 10k more than the marathon...it's pretty close though. My mind must not have "gotten over it" yet!

10k's aren't very fun, but they are over in much less than an hour. A marathon is at least 3x as long suffering, not to mention the recovery afterward.

From Kelli on Fri, Dec 09, 2011 at 15:47:06 from 71.219.83.156

I take a marathon over a 10k any day! I am beginning to think a marathon is my favorite distance.

I spend way too much on running clothes, WAY too much! But, I am frugal when it comes to the shoes-I stock up when they are half off! I bet my husband spends as much as I do when you put clothes and shoes together---he goes through way more shoes than i do on half the mileage. Running is so not FREE.

I am a little taller than average woman, I weigh a tiny bit less than the average---that is a plus!!!!

Interesting stuff.

10K is definitely the worst... especially at altitude! Its all-out right from the gun... you can never really get too comfortable.
