Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Well I can't say that I'm not intimidated about the new OTQ standards. 2:37/2:43 for women. That's fast. So I would have to be a 2:42 marathoner in order to make the Trials in 2016, 6:13 min/mile. That requires a perfect 2 years of training to even attempt. So come on injury. GET BETTER!

PM - Headed down to Diamond Fork with Amiee to check out the hot springs. 5 mile hike and loved the springs! It was fun to have a little adventure and no injury pains.

Andrea, I really believe you will do it IF you can get consistent training. You have run great times without long term consistent training. Had you had another cycle after US Half Champs you would have been in the 1:16s for half. Once you get there you are in the 2:43 building, you just have to enter. It's scary what you are capable of. Also, with Allison going through an injury I have to say that you have a great attitude. It's not easy but you seem to have a positive attitude. I love it. I would love nothing more than to go watch my wife along with you and Jake at the Trials. Let's GO!!

Look at it like this -- you only have to improve 3.5% from your first one. That's like 1% a year. I bet you can drop some of that just by virtue of being more experienced after another couple marathons. Then there's like half a percent left. Slap on some lighter shoes and you're there. Done! I should be a coach...

I will be cheering for that injury to be over and done with after this break. Maybe you can get ripped on those steroids!

The new standards are insane but if anyone can do it it is you. You are an incredibly runner Andrea!

Awesome pictures and it looks like you and Aimmee had a great time. :)

Who is that hottie in the swimsuit?!? Thank you for not posting a saggy bum photo :)

p.s. 2:42 = cake!

It will take some work, but it's not out of reach by any means. Healthy, that's half x 2 plus 8-9 minutes for the B-standard? I'm sure you can find someone, eh hem, to pace you for those marathon tempos, possibly as his third run of the day (wink, wink, nudge, nudge).

Be well.

that's why I need to get my qualifier out of the way early, Jason :-)

Then I'll get to do my dream job - elite women's pacer!
