Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Really good!

Last workout of the season :-)

Think about where you were in July/August.

I'm still pretty amazed that I was able to run 3 miles at 6:30 pace with Allie at the Des News Marathon! It about killed me though :)

From allie on Tue, Nov 26, 2013 at 15:40:03 from 161.38.221.168

i'm forever {[grateful]} that you ran with me for those three miles. and don't forget you were carrying a water bottle and talking to amiee on the phone!

as i said on sunday, it just goes to show how good you are and how much more you have to tap into.

Well, we are both "only" 27 so I'd say we both have much more to tap into :)

I am definitely nervous that I won't get back to full health again. There are still way too many aches and pains, and I can't progress too much more until I can get past that 10 mile barrier. Still waiting for that breakthrough....

From allie on Tue, Nov 26, 2013 at 20:29:53 from 161.38.221.168

i just read a dumb buzzfeed list that said 28 is the best year of the twenties. so i guess we have a full year to look forward to our best year. it also said 23 was the worst. i agree.

as for your concerns with health/progress -- totally understandable. you have been through a lot. you may still have some limitations in the amount of weekly mileage and intensity that you can handle, but you have made so much progress (remember when you logged a 0.4 mile run and all of the comments had exclamation! points!?). i have no doubt you are going to get that breakthrough where everything starts firing again and you can just take off without limits. you are smart and patient and you are working with your body's timetable rather than forcing it to work with yours. that is absolutely going to pay off.

Speaking of buzzfeed...

-my dad was devastated when pb max was discontinued. he bought up like 50 cases and stored them in our basement (best food storage in the neighborhood). so i enjoyed those for a good five years longer than the rest of the population.

-i used to drink surge everyday for lunch when i was 14 (the other half of my lunch was a 100 grand candy bar). i was always fRaZzEd!

-3D doritos were disgusting.

I definitely remember drinking Ecto-Cooler as a kid. What a flavor!

Wowza, nice workout! You're going to take home an entire fleet (gobble?) of turkey's!

All the races in Phoenix have replaced turkey prizes with cases of Pepsi Blue. Its going to be an awesome holiday.
