Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Eeeks....a track 5k with many a runner beside me!! high school track trauma comes to my mind....I just ran track in high school to stay in shape for field hockey and ski team...HATED running against my friends...hence I can already see how interesting my mind would go back in time at this one....perhaps I should tear down the demons :D ? seriously how will this 5k play out? how much is it? btw getting more stoked for your race coming up : DDD

I'll do it if everyone runs slowly so I can win. Just kidding

Honestly, I dreaded being on the track until May this year. It took me about 8 workouts (4 being super easy 200s) to decide that it wasn't so bad after all. Plus, it's completely flat and 100% accurate so it's perfect conditions for a PR (well, there is the weather variable to throw in too). The race is free, just a fun event to meet people on the blog and run. We'll have chocolate milk refreshments at the end too!

I'm glad your legs are feeling fresh and fast! That's a great sign. I wish I could be there Saturday, but we'll be up in Brigham making apple cider. I would much prefer to have YOU pace me to a PR than try to get one on my own at the Tremonton TT.
