Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

Took the day off from running and did 20 minutes of upper body. My right adductor is quite sore and I have a little discomfort around my knee. Just need an easy day!

I really like that first quote Andrea, thanks for sharing. The first step to accomplishing any goal in life is believing you are capable.

Appreciate the Keith Brantly quote - if nothing else, but for you perhaps knowing who he is. (He's a Florida boy who went to UF a few years before I did. He may be a couple years older than coach Murphy.) :)

He finished 4th at the marathon trials twice, I think, and then finally made the team in '96 before the dark ages of American marathoning really kicked in.

I like the quote too because its the philosophy I'm desperately trying to stick to: Don't be stupid, and don't do stuff just because you can.

So you're saying, training into the ground isn't a good thing?! Not that I do it that often but sage advice.

Thanks for sharing!
