Run consistently as I get back to 100% health. Stay patient!
Long-Term Running Goals:
Have fun training and racing.
Sub-17 5K
Sub-1:17 Half Marathon
Quality for the Olympic Trials in the marathon
Personal:
I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.
I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)
I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.
AM - 6 miles really easy, 8:30 pace. Tired legs! Marathon training is hard.
Looks like we'll have a nice crew for the long run tomorrow morning at Jordan River Parkway. Let me know if you want to join in.

"The difference between the mile and the marathon is the difference between burning your fingers with a match and being slowly roasted over hot coals."

That's a pretty funny quote. It takes a special soul to enjoy the prolonged pain and suffering of the marathon.

I like that Jake! I may have to steal that one.
Marathon training is HARD, but SO worth it! I love that I ran about your pace today - makes me feel like a rockstar to think that I could keep up with a speedster like yourself (even on a good day for me and a slower day for you).
Where on the Parkway are you meeting tomorrow?

Jake - neither of those sound pleasant to me!
RAD - Start at 3300S 8am. Pace will be something like 7:15-7:30 for first 15 miles, then pickup to marathon pace. The run is just an out-and-back, so if you want to join (even if just for a bit) you can turnaround at any point. Even if you can't come, once my marathon season is over it would be great to meet and go for a run. Herriman is not that far away!

I have a 5K here at 9AM and have to 'work' at 8:45 so I won't be able to make it. I was just thinking if you were meeting out here (south end of valley) to start I might try to come and keep up for a mile-ish and just say hello to all the famous people :)

i definitely prefer hot coals. especially since i've never been able to ignite a match.
