Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 8 miles with Jake, Millcreek loop 7:40 pace. I can feel the taper working - my legs feel stronger and more rested already. I'm trying to get all the nervousness out today and tomorrow, and my stomach is in knots already this morning!

I thought this study was interesting - The effect of early vs. late bedtimes.

Interesting article. Thanks! I know that when I'm up late is when I'm prone to junk food binges.

good old ben franklin knew what he was talking about. early to bed, early to rise...

i'm glad the taper is helping you feel more rested and fresh. hang in there this week and just try to stay relaxed. i always feel like time moves so slowly the week of a big race. just keep busy! you are going to do great. remember: 17:16 5k! all of that summer training has come together.

You are going to do so well this weekend. You are amazing. You can do it. Focus on the positive and let the nervous energy help you go even faster!

Thanks for the link. It does not explore people like me who change almost daily what sleep pattern I am on. ha! I looking forward to your weekend race, looks like it's coming together for you.
