Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 5.5 mile tempo run at Liberty Park. It was very windy!! Jake was nice enough to pace me this morning. The goal was marathon pace (6:20ish pace), but we ended up running a little faster with splits of 6:15, 6:13, 6:10, 6:13, 6:10, 6:13 (equiv for .5 mile). The pace didn't feel too hard, definitely not easy though! 2 mile warm-up and 1.5 mile cool-down. Glad that one is behind me!

This is a great excuse to not work too hard at your job - Tired brain can slow performance

PM - 2 miles, easy. Tired.

You are getting AWESOME at using hyperlinks! Pretty soon you'll be a HTML wizard!

Not sure. It's not always windy, but most mornings if you get near the mouth of the canyon it is.

OK, I just read yesterday and today's posts and I have a few comments!

1-running skirts are the best! I know they are a bit trendy, BUT, seriously, if you can not be cute and feminine while running it is just not fun. I like to be separated from the men. ;o)

2-totally afraid of the dark! And in Millcreek I would be terrified, so good for you!

3-I think you are totally cool (that phrase shows my old age). A 6:20 marathon pace run just feeling nice and easy!! SO COOL. That is not even my 5k pace. ;o)

4-It is always windy in Riverton/Herriman, too. ALWAYS.

I am excited for your marathon!!

Oh, and I forgot one thing-I am going to go quit my job. Way to mentally fatiguing! Maybe then I can run that 5k at your MP!

Kelli - glad we're on the same page! I think we would get along very well :o)

Unfortunately, my boss just doesn't prioritize my running over the work he gives me... :)

I need more naps, that would do the trick!
