Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - After a mile of running, my right lower leg locked up on me again. So the shoe theory is incorrect, unfortunately. I sat around and stretched for 5 minutes or so and then was able to run again. Only 3 miles this morning. Maybe I need to stretch more before I go out and run - I'll try that and see how it goes. If it keeps happening, I'm going to have to take some time off before I cause major damage. This is the first time that I've been able to feel a residual dull pain after the run.

PM - Stretched before the run, and my leg felt fine after running a mile. So the short workout was on (despite the 95 degree temp). 2 x mile on 1% downhill gradient with mile recovery. Jake and I did this before Utah Valley and decided to copy it since we both had such great races there. 5:20, 5:15. Back in June these times were 5:30, 5:34 at 65 degrees. Hopefully this means I'll be faster at Top of Utah this weekend!

sorry andrea. you are definitely being smart about it though. i really hope it's just something minor.

that is quite an improvement! nice job on the workout, and glad to hear your leg is okay. your TOU 1/2 is going to be ridiculously fast. i can't wait to see the result!

As someone who was with you for both the morning and evening sessions, I will say that you looked better this afternoon :-)

Allie - wanna jump in around the 10 mile mark of TOU so I don't die up that hill??

Jake - I was definitely not in a good mood this morning after my leg hurt again, or the rest of the day for that matter. You would not have had a happy camper if I wasn't able to run this evening!

NIce workout! You are going to kill the half! I am seriously excited to see how you do.

You will be faster this weekend! Nice splits. I'd be willing to bet you and Jake are in the top 10 fastest United States couples.

oh, how i would love to jump in the race and be there to see it all go down, but i won't be able to make it up there on saturday.

just attack that hill. soon after, the finish line will come into view and that brings some great motivation to finish it out. you've got it!
