Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - Ran 1.5 mile warmup then started the workout of 9 x 30s with 45s recovery at average 5:40 pace. I thought I ran 10 but it doesn't really matter - the goal was to run short efforts at a faster pace and work on good form. 1.5 mile cooldown.

PM - 6 miles on the bike with Jake.

Great job Andrea. It is really exciting to see you bouncing back so quickly. 3 short months ago you could barely walk and had to be wheeled around an airport and now you are doing a workout at a 5:40 pace!

Hang in there andrea. I think u will surprise yourself. Jist muscles needing a little tweaking. Go easy next few days. I too have been suffering from post injury pain phenomenon. Its real and its .not....somebow need to let go of that worry and just go up (and down) in a spiral. I truly underatand the whole form and muscle battle. Take care sleep well and dont advance too fast. Overcome.

Hey! We ran the same mileage today! Butnosomuch the same pace. Great job. Like everyone else I'm impressed and so happy that you are able to run so fast so quickly after surgery.
