Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - 2 mile shakeout, just to make sure I'm ready for a workout this afternoon.

PM - 2.2 mile warm-up with Jake. Then, 6 mile tempo in 37:20 (6:13 min/mile). The goal was to run at 6:20-6:25 pace, but I ran the first mile too fast and never slowed down. The effort level was harder than it needed to be today, especially since I was running on tired legs. I blame the annoying wind, New Kids on the Block, and Allie. A great workout though! 1 mile cooldown home for a total of 9.2 miles.

MP? yeah, easy breezy for you :) Good luck. Those tempo runs always give me a pit in my gut until they are over!

For the record I think that was a very impressive tempo considering the wind was pretty gusty this afternoon.

Yep... great workout.

Fantastic run. Even if it was a bit quicker than you intended, as long as you rest those legs up it will just make your next mp run seem like a piece of cake!

Running in the wind is tough to manage pace effort. Nice workout!

You totally killed this workout Andrea. Wow! You need to race a 10k I think. :)
