Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

I have never, ever had that "problem"

From Lily on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 09:22:44 from 67.199.178.210

Iron supplement maybe? I took my liquid iron this morning and have lost my appetite. Makes me feel sickly.

Was it from running the half? I've felt this way before after running half marathons. Not sure why but I have.

From Jake K on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 09:24:16 from 155.100.226.54

Well I know its not from the liquid iron b/c that bottle is still 100% sealed :-)

Go to Target @ lunch, get some peanut M&Ms, you'll get the appetite mojo back!

From Andrea on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 09:32:37 from 72.37.171.52

Could be the race...or the iron (100mg of the pills)...drinks don't sound too bad so I'll just drink a bunch of chocolate milk today.

Lulu - I am so terrible at yoga. I think I'm getting worse!

From Rob on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 09:32:57 from 166.205.141.38

I guess that's not true, I couldn't eat anything for 6 hours after St. George.

From Rachelle on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 10:02:52 from 199.190.170.24

I wish I worked next to Target. I love that place. How about milkshakes?

Is that your way of telling Jake that you don't like what he cooks?

From Andrea on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 11:05:05 from 72.37.171.52

All he ever wants for dinner is salad!!!

From Jake K on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 11:07:02 from 155.100.226.54

oh give me a break - we have 9000 different food items to choose from in the fridge/pantry... its enough to feed a small army!

Andrea, it is getting drier and warmer there in the high desert ... you might need more electrolytes than normal. I really like this stuff:http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=208541&catid=180687&aid=338666&aparam=208541

no sugar, high in both K and Na ... and one bag lasts me 2-3 days (I have an 8 oz glass with about 1/3 bag every day -- and sometimes more during the height of the summer). It has really helped me in the past when suffering from fatigue that really felt like iron or even thyroid fatigue. I think that K and Na balance is really really under-rated in runners (especially, for some reason I don't understand, women).

I hope it is something simple like this!! Maybe even super-women like you just need to take it easy every once-in-a-while ;-)

I'm sure that appetite will come back soon. You'll find something your body is craving.

Thanks for the tip on electrolytes, Bonnie.

I might have to try that electrolyte tip as well - thanks Bonnie!

Nice work today Andrea, I feel ya - I haven't liked anything I've eaten lately, but have been hungry enough to eat - I just don't like it when I do eat it and nothing sounds particularly good. Crazy business I tell ya...crazy! I hope you find an end to it soon.

andrea -- i just made the world's biggest donut in my pizza oven (fair warning: it's covered in dead blossoms because the wind was blowing and the frosting hadn't set yet). i'll bring it over later tonight.

From Toby on Thu, Apr 26, 2012 at 19:28:57 from 199.101.229.6

I wish I had that problem! Your smart...just listen to your body!
