Personal:

I am originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to SLC with Jake in 2010. I started racing in 2011 and had some great success before a major injury hit me in July 2012. I had athletic pubalgia surgery in May 2013...then again in Sept 2014 and am still trying to get back to my old self. Although running is my true passion, I love doing pretty much anything active outdoors - backcountry skiing, backpacking, biking, etc.

I've been running for the Saucony Team since 2011. I enjoy representing the brand and really do believe they make the best shoes :)

I work as a Quality Engineer for BD Medical in Sandy.

AM - I had the morning off so I met up with Allie at Sugarhouse and we ran 10 miles together then I added a few more for 13.2 miles. It was so nice starting at 7:30am and just being able to enjoy the run without any rush.

Traveling for the next 18 hours! Thank goodness I will be in business class for the 10-hour flight, so the seats lay flat and I can (hopefully) get some sleep. Jake downloaded lots of good chick flicks for me to watch too.  Part of me is really excited about going to Brazil, but the other part of me just likes the routine I'm in. It'll be fun though and I'll try to make the most of my free time - I'll take lots of pictures and post them!

Just found out the Desi Davila is running the BAA 5K....my goal will be to stand next to her at the start line, get a picture, and not finish more than 2 minutes behind her!

If it makes you feel better . . . I went on my honeymoon to Hawaii 3 weeks before Deseret News 10k. I was only able to get in 35-40 miles in on the trip. I came back and ran my fastest 10k ever. So, I say enjoy the trip, run when you can, and don't worry too much about training. With time changes, climate changes, travel, food changes, I think it's just important not to let yourself get too fatigued.

Have fun Andrea and I most definitely agree with Emily. This downtime will probably do you some good.

I can't wait to see pictures. :)
